About us

We started VERO because we loved fast food and hated what it had become. So we made it the long way: whole ingredients, real fat, cooked to order, handed over fast.

Twelve years later there are six kitchens in three cities, and the menu is still short enough to fit on one board. We would like to keep it that way.

(01)What we hold to

Four rules

  1. 01

    Cooked to order

Nothing sits under a heat lamp. Your burger goes on the plancha when your ticket prints.

  2. 02

    Short ingredient lists

If we can make it in-house, we do: sauces, pickles, syrups, cola. If we can’t pronounce it, it isn’t in the food.

  3. 03

    Pay people properly

€1,250 a month to start, well above the national minimum, private health insurance from month three and a kitchen where nobody shouts.

  4. 04

    Fast, not rushed

Order ahead and it’s ready in eight minutes. We save time on the queue, never on the cooking.

Our story

  1. 2014

    A walk-up window in Psyrri

Marina and Dimitris open a two-metre window on Agion Anargyron with a plancha, a fryer and four things on the menu.

  2. 2016

    Back to beef fat

After six months of testing, the fries switch to beef tallow. Queues double within a month.

  3. 2018

    Koukaki

Koukaki opens on Veikou Street, our first restaurant with seating.

  4. 2020

    The pickup shelf

Order-ahead and the pickup shelf keep the kitchens open and every cook on payroll.

  5. 2022

    Thessaloniki

Ladadika opens a few streets from the port, followed by Kalamaria a year later.

  6. 2024

    Patras

Patras Centre opens with the Florina Pepper Melt, a recipe the local crew had pushed for since 2022.

  7. 2026

    Drive-thru and franchising

Rio brings our first drive-thru, and we begin taking on franchise partners.
